Dauphin Island Engagement Session

Diane and Alex are one of the most laid back, fun couple I have ever worked with. I took their engagement portraits on a cold January  afternoon on the beach that will be the backdrop to their wedding. Dauphin Island is a gorgeous island at the southern tip of Mobile, AL. One of the best perks of being a photographer is getting to sometimes work on the beach!

I love it when couples can make each other laugh and show their love and emotion for each other without much direction. Diane and Alex were one of those couples. His sense of humor even had me laughing with them. We even talked her into getting her feet wet in the freezing cold water!!

I, like them, can not wait until their wedding day! I love being a part of a couple’s big day and providing them with images that will last a lifetime and beyond. I know it’s going to be a great day, with hopefully one of those gorgeous Alabama sunsets.

Smith Family | Beach Family Portraits | Dauphin Island, Alabama

I recently had a family portrait session on Dauphin Island, Alabama with this adorable family.  The Smith family is a sweet family of 5, soon to be 6. It was a honor that they used one of my photos from the session as their pregnancy announcement. The day of our session the weather was hot and humid but we managed to capture some beautiful shots despite the elements. It was great to see the and photograph this family. Their children are beautiful and were fun to shoot. Congratulations on your pregnancy and thank you for choosing me to capture the day for you!

Of all the memories we hold dear to our hearts, the ones we can all agree are the most precious, are those of our family.

When I was little my family and I always visited Dauphin Island. It's a wonderful place filled with memories... my grandparents, who played a huge role in my life, loved it there. We would spend a week there every summer and they would rent a beach house. Our whole family would get together and we would spend the whole day in the sun. I wish I had more pictures of those days. As vivid as they are in my mind, I wish I could flip through a book and relive them everyday. This is where my love for photography comes from, my want for more photos of my family when I was younger.

As soon as spring started I knew I wanted to gift one family with a beach session. It gives me a reason to visit this wonderful place I love all while proving a beautiful family with photos of their family that they can cherish forever.

In April, I held a contest on Instagram where the winner would receive a free sunset beach session. The rules were : Follow my instagram, like 5 photos, and comment on 3 photos. Pretty simple, huh? When the contest was over I drew a number from a cup that I had given to each entry. I drew Emma's number. We were both very excited to begin this session.

Emma and her family were a delight to work with. We had so much fun laughing and playing in the sand.

Their photos make me smile every time I see them and I'm so honored to be able to share them with you.

This is Emma and her family, captured as they are.

Beautiful, relaxed, happy.
